Kaua‘i Surf Spots

For beginners, Anahola Beach Park on the east side is well protected and has small waves you can build your skills on. Brennecke’s Beach at Po‘ipu has a nice shore break and is also good for body boarding. Gillin’s Beach in Kōloa is also a good novice spot, and Hanalei Bay on the north shore is good for surfers of all levels. For advanced surfers, the south shore has some stellar breaks: Cannons Beach, Lemon Drops, PKʻs (Prince Kuhio), and Acid Drop won’t let you down.

There are a number of surfboard rental companies on the island. Kauaʻi Surf Rentals in Kilauea has a full line of surf and paddle boards and will deliver to you. In Hanalei, Hawaiian Surfing Adventures is a great choice; Hanalei Surf Company and Hanalei Surfboard House can also meet your all your needs.
