Mama’s Fish House Specialties

Mama’s kitchen is always a hubbub of activity in the morning. Each day local fishermen and divers bring their catch to Mama’s kitchen, where it is filleted and served within 24 hours as seafood Maui Hawaii; local farmers drop by with their freshly harvested organic produce, and local hunters deliver wild Maui venison and boar. You know exactly where your seafood came from; Mama’s is constantly printing new menus that reflect where the seafood for each dish was caught and who caught it, a Mama’s tradition since they opened. Start your experience off with Mama’s Ceviche, Papa’s Three Fish Sashimi, or grilled he‘e (octopus). Mama’s Salad or Tristan Lobster Lūʻau Soup makes for a perfect second course. Besides mouthwatering daily fish specials, Mama’s ever-changing menu boasts  such Maui seafood restaurant offerings such as ‘Ahi, Papio, and Mahimahi in Panang Curry, Mama’s Lobster Stuffed Mahimahi, Bouillabaisse, and much, much more. Their desserts also rotate, however there are some mainstays such as Kū‘au Chocolate Pie and their famous Liliko‘i Créme Brulée, which, we kid you not, is the best créme brulée on the planet. Mama’s Fish House prices are what you would expect for a fine dining establishment of such high caliber, with dinner entrees ranging between $45 and $68. Reservations are a must.

How to Get There

For a taste of Seafood Maui Hawaii, Mama’s is located about eight miles east of Kahului. From Kahului, take Hana Highway (HI-36) east towards Hāna. Pass through the funky little north shore town of Pāʻia and keep going for 1.4 miles. Look for the fishing boat on the left with the Mama’s Fish House logo on it. Turn left onto Poho Place and that will bring you into the parking lot.
